• Seminar: Kaders voor arbeidsgehandicapten

  Woensdag 6 oktober wordt er in het Stadsparkpaviljoen in Groningen een mini-seminar gehouden voor werkgevers, die meer willen doen met de mogelijkheden van arbeidsgehandicapten binnen hun bedrijf. Ideeën, verwachtingen en mogelijkheden tot een bredere kijk op het inzetten van deze groep werknemers komen aan de orde en het is de bedoeling dat de kaders mede samen met de deelnemers aan deze bijeenkomst worden ingekleurd. Naast presentaties van o.a. de film "Waking up in a disabled world" en een verslag over het Ierse project "Access Ability" zal er een open forum worden gehouden. Deze ontmoeting wordt georganiseerd door de twee EQUAL-projecten Operatie Pelios en Peoplemanagement voor ICT, en wordt mede gefinancierd door het Europees Sociaal Fonds.

• The last stop of The X Train in Stirling, Scotland

  On 14 September 2004, The X Train experienced its final meeting Scotland. The conference title was: 'Challenging, Learning - an Equal Journey!' Participants from all The X Train partners came from Italy, Portugal, Sweden and the Netherlands to their Scottish colleagues in the city of Stirling. The four Working groups met and had their final exchange of ideas; the Steering Group also got together and evaluated the conference program afterwards. Presentations were given about The X Train, the situation of (lifelong) learning in Scotland, and the research about 'Gender & disability in education' by the University of Edinburgh. All participants were invited to choose three workshops (out of seven) which took place over two days. The workshops covered topics like discrimination at work; how to transfer experiences and models; changing attitudes and how to create time for learning in the workplace.

  

  Birgitta Vinnersten from Diversity Faces (Sweden) and Tineke van de Velde from Operatie Pelios (The Netherlands) organized the workshop about changing attitudes; they are both members of the Changing Attitudes Working Group, which also presented their book with the exchanged 'best practices', exercises and evaluation about the Working Group.
